After another night spent on another misnamed ‘sleeper’, we arrived into Zurich via Milan. Travel buddy had found us a lovely cosy welcoming hotel for the night. We even had our own local!

Unfortunately though we had to check out of our lovely hotel and find a way to pass the time until our next sleeper, this one didn’t leave Zurich until 2200. So we stashed our bags and went for a walk by the river.

Not our finest moment! It got very hot and we had to seek the shade and dangle our feet in the cool water. But resourceful as ever , we were able to find local facilities to help us on our way!

After a final vsit to our local we ensconced ourselves into our sleeper cabin bound for Amsterdam. Our train was delayed so we were compensated thus …

And so to sleep … not! Travel buddy scuttled off into the heavens again, dangling everything from water bottles to feet from her perch up high. We could at least relax and lay comfortably.
Our train was an hour late into Amsterdam, and whilst we felt for our fellow passengers who has connections to catch and miss, we were selfishly delighted. This meant we had one less hour to fill before our coach transfer to Rotterdam.

We concluded our trip, once again with a ferry trip home. With, of course, the now obligatory last dinner, cheeky chilled white and a brandy in the piano lounge..
Where did the time go? Yet another stash of special and wonderful memories. We do not take any of this for granted, and respect our stroppy knees, bonky hips and mythering backs. It is indeed, as I was once again reminded by the passing of another known to me and mine, that it is a privilege to get old..er.

Tuesday planning nights are now back on the agenda…who knows….
Thanks for the follows and comments. Be back soon.
