Bye Bye Lecce & Italy.

Our last day in Italy needed precision planning. Who better to undertake this than travel buddy and I? We had to leave our appartment at 1100, but the sleeper train, once again named something it isn’t, didn’t leave until 1830. Temperature was around 35! So the cool interior of yet another duamo beckoned.

Duamo…again!
More lovliness.
More
More lovliness…on the roof.

Then we went up!

Up the bell tower.

And a lovely cooling breeze.

We managed to turn ourselves round coming out of a different entrance, so getting ourselves found again passed an hour or so!

Right direction!

We exited the old town via our local gateway.

Porta Rudie

On to the Bounce baggage storage and onto our sleeper.

Spot the vino!

Eleven hours to Milan and no sleep!

One of the finset stations we have been through.

Another 5 hours to Zurich through very pretty countryside.

Ahhhhh!

The joy of being stationary in an air conditioned room after a cold shower. I doubt we will go far today. Feel a nana nap coming on!

Tommorrow we have to entertain ourselves until 2200! Last train journey of this trip is the ‘sleeper’ to Amsterdam. I think the knack of being able to sleep when you are being all shaken about and frequently having to ‘hang on’ with any available limb each time we stop is not, as yet, in our skill set. We will see….
