Silver tops still wandering

We have arrived at our final destination, and what a wonderful place it is.

From the knarled and beautiful old trees we passed on the way. To our fabulous apartment complete with outside terrace.

This city with a duamo to visit, is surprisingly touristy. We are actually within the old town. Much like Lucca there is a complete wall around the old city with gateways. The ancient Roman architecture is everywhere.

The ancient amphetheatre has been excavated, it is possible to see how susequent settlements have gradually been built up over the Roman remains.

We have found a local market that sells fresh produce, so our morning shopping is sorted. They also sell wine straight from the vat! Tried a cheeky chilled white with lunch and had a lovely sleep this afternoon!

We are hatching some plots and plans. There is so much we could do here and so many places to visit. Our timetable of events is still in the planning, and could be subject to change on a whim! There is a limit to what we can do in 5 days, espcially when afternoon naps have to be factored in.  Who knows what we will do…
