Bye Bye Florence

Market

With its’ winding streets and wonderful buildings around every corner this week has been a treat.

The hams in the market

We had ‘tea’ here and indulged in a steak. There was no way even between us that we could eat one of the famous regional T bones.

Tea!

Happy with our sirloins and a cheeky pint to wash it down

The market was full of local cuisine. Not a pizza in sight. Just as we get a real handle on the place, it is time to move on!

Our local

We leave behind our lovely local and the barman who took us under his wing. Fed us all sorts for free and served us the most ridiculous measures of Aperro! He was great fun. Felt a real affiliation to us because he knew York! A real joy.

Ciao

So we are packed, got tram tickets for the morning, bins emptied…this is no trivial matter. It requires a walk to find the communal bins, a’tag’ and strong legs to press on the bar to raise the lid! Of course travel buddy got the easy option of disposing of bottles into the bottle bank whilst I did my best not to put myself in the bin! We are feeling accomplished at sussing all of these intricasies out so far without major incident.

Salerno here we come!
