Silver tops still wandering

There is much to admire in down town Florence. I have restrained myself and tried to post with a degree of decorum. If you want the full frontals then I must refer you to travel buddy who has ‘clicked’ and giggled her way through a number of shots. We are impressed! Not a fig leaf in sight! Last time we saw statues like this was in Berlin and many extremeties had been frost damaged and fallen off! Noses, ears, thumbs eccetera eccetera. We must thank all of the Gods here depicted for a warmer climate. Of course it is all nonsense to me! I did Greek Mythology at school. Really handy subject that! Can’t recognise my Apollo from my Psoiden.

Cannot tell you anything about this except that is is lovely. I can however tell you why the building behind it has two huge fault cracks in its’ fascade. The Mafia tried to explode it! I was eaves dropping one of those walking tours with the numbers on a pole. Lot of that going on. They accumulate into gaggles and walk twelveteen abreast and cause me to use very bad language.

The bridge is a must see apparently. We saw, walked across it and were more impressed with the ancient architecture than the shops which sell a lot of gold stuff.

Very impressive. I have managed to include photographs not showing the abundance of scaffolding. It costs €30 to go round, queueing for hours is compulsory and the rules of where you can go and where you mustn’t stop are far too much to ask of us two. Arrests would be likely. We decided to admire from afar.

Lunch was had off the beaten track. Then a long winding walk back along the river.
