Day 2.

Our 6 mile walk!

With recovered legs, hips, knees and shoulders, fuelled on haggis for breakfast, we set off in the sunshine. We were very buoyant and bouncy at the prospect of only 6 miles to cover today. So what went wrong? It was like in the Scottish ballard…

The Low Road

‘You take the high road

I’ll take the low road

And I’ll be in Scotland before you…’

We took the low road…we walked along the beach right past our hotel and had to walk on to Pettycur to get up and off the beach and then find a crossing over the railway lines. This was not a navigation error! Just a 50% chance of getting it wrong! We did! We scaled cliff faces, climbed steps, followed tracks to locked gates, doubled back and then eventaully this.

Perfect Joy!

We enjoyed the walking. Saw seals, listened to a wonderful chorus of sea birds and sampled some local delights from the deli.

Spot the seals!
Abedour Bay. Revisited
Forth Bridge Still in Sight.

So we are admittedly a little weary tonight. Nothing a hot shower, dinner and a cheeky chilled white won’t cure.

Tommorrow is a short hop. Yeah right!  We have 2 night stay ahead of us and a day off!

Kirkcaldy here we come…
