From Fernie to Rossland.

We have moved on. Amazingly we got all of this

Into that!

We said a sad farewell to Fernie after an amazing dinner at Yamagoya. Posssibly the best sushi we have ever eaten. We sat in a booth, ensconced in our own little bubble and just kept on ordering. A wonderful evening.

Arriving in Rossland. The trees are putting on quite a display for us.

A little bit of walking on a trail. No bears!

Moody mountains. We did a quick about turn before that lot caught up with us.

Only a ‘local’ would know how to get here! It did entail a challenging drive up a logging road, and for one travel companion to partake of travel sickness tablets by the bucket full…but wow, oh wow was it worth it.

Of course I did! It was unbelievable. Yes it was cold, but no colder than the North Sea! The water was fresh and crystal clear, the sun did come out and so I had the most wonderful swim. The others joined in too.

Possibly the most scenic place I have ever swam.

Wildlife all around us.

This hawk had just landed his lunch!

So long well kept secret, quiet and totally unspoiled lake location. Fabulous day. The tempreture got up to thirty degrees later, then we had a storm so our lake dip was very well timed.

We have plans for more adventures here, there’s the Hundred Acre Wood, full of ancient trees to explore, Nelson for a day visit, the brewery to visit, and a Sunday Lunch for about 14 guests to enjoy…on Sunday. Hope my Yorkshire Puddings pass muster…

Bye for now from beautiful downtown Rossland.
