Lake Louise & Banff.

We took another stunning drive to the resort of Lake Louise. An iconic lake that sits right up in the mountains with the quintessential mountain backdrop. We didn’t hike up to it, or take the wally trolley, we chose to admired it from afar.

Instead we went up in a ski lift and marvelled at the views from the top. I did the ‘Sea to Sky’ chairlift on the coast in Squamish not too far out of Vancouver a couple of years ago, and it is truly a magnificent way to get right up into the mountains without the effort! So I certainly didn’t need persuading to repeat the experience in a different area. Dodgy knees and bonky hip are most grateful for this alternative mode of accent.

They weren’t wrong!

We bided a wee while right here. Drank some beer, which tasted so much better when you have a vista like this. We enjoyed a little snack and just absorbed what was a very special time.

The run is a favourite place for bear spotting, as is usual for me, none were showing up to my photoshoot! So had to make do with a picture of a stuffed one instead. My quest to see an actual bear continues….
