And So To Canada…

Twenty first floor view from a hotel in downtown Calgary where two days were spent recovering from our flight. A lovely hotel in a not so wonderful location.

Travelling companion this time is daughter mine. We have waited a long time to do this trip and with a head wind, an economy flex ticket, way too much luggage, an eight hour flight from Edinburgh with Westjet saw us arrive in Calgary. It is a bit of a ‘lulu’ when your flight leaves at twelve mid day and eight hours later you arrive just after lunch time … same day on the other side of the pond.

Then a Flix bus to here

The Rockies. A much better view from our appartment methinks! This morning I woke to this and counted every single blessing in my life. Sometimes, when you travel around and see things, you long for time to just stop. Today was like that for me. So let the pictures, do the talking. Not ‘shopped’ or anything, just as I took them in the moment. We are in Canmore Alberta. I have seen some wonderful things in Canada, this is simply breath taking.

Our walk into ‘town’.

My everything!

En route to ‘town’.

What we saw when we stepped out of our door this morning.

Thinking about our furry friends back home!

Blue skies and not a breath of wind. We waited ages to see if the flags would unfurl, they didnt!

Photo bomb…by accident, but what a view. Wandering back to our appartment, where we reconvened, cooked a spaghetti bolognese and drank beer!

So … yes the bike is in the living room area, but then when it is your livelihood, and it cost more than my car … where else would it be? Tomorrow we are going bike riding. Travel companion and I are going e-bike, ‘tother one, is of course going ‘analogue’. Why pay the $80 when you have thighs than don’t need charging up and can overtake e bikes in full throttle? We have a plan…

So good to see you back again and loving following your adventure. Canada makes Scotland seem tame. Although my legs feel otherwise with all the hills.😂
