Portugal

We have arrived at our end point! We had to identify a place to turn around and this is it! We are once again delighted with our ‘home from home’ and have landed in a very remote place but blessed as our hosts speak English.

Doing the tourist thing.

We set off with not much of a plan and ended up here. A village dating back to Roman times.

A long climb up!

Ambled up into the clouds…quite literally. The weather has followed us once again! But at least we could walk around comfortably.

Way too much

Happened upon one of the best restaurants in the area! Mrs Russell thought all her birthdays had come at once! Delicious. The ‘Lizard’. Closed now until the 7th July! Typically spot on timing for us yet again!

Digesting!

Then back for a spot of sun soaking. Bonkers when it is too hot at 5pm!

Mrs Russell thanks those who showed concern over her affliction. She has weathered the indignities of belly rubs with Aloe Vera cream several times a day and has clean forgotten about the needle in the gluteal maximus!

Checking  out a swimming spot.

Ingenious…river ‘managed’ into an outdoor pool. Lovely grassed area, a bar, toilets, a cafe and useless to us. Mrs Russell isn’t allowed! So no sunbathing and cooling off here!

It is going to be very hot here next week. Fear not I have a plan…

Hosepipe spotted!
