We have been enthralled and entertained by the posing and pouting of the Instagram/TikTok generations below us. Thought we would have a crack at it. We proudly consider ourselves ‘low maintenance’ so doubt we will be snapped up as influencers. Couple that with the fact we are now ‘sniff checking’ our garments leaves us very little kudos. None of the above matters at all to us.

The marathon was fun to watch. There was much whooping and clapping to encourage the runners over the bridge into the home straight. Jane is just out of shot here, shimmying around in her shorts and vest top.
After completion of the marathon extravaganza we took a stroll and then the FREE to the over 65’s funicular railway up Petrin Hill. It matters that the funicular was free because we got ripped off again. Strawberries this time! We are living and learning, all be it slowly.

We went higher, in the elevator up Pragues version of the Eifel Tower, and were rewarded by breath taking views over the city. Didn’t stay up there too long, we could feel ‘movement’. Just a little worried about build quality.

We wound our way back down and were once again amazed at the abundance of beautiful roof tops and architecture.

We watched the changing of the guard at the palace, funny marching thing going on there. If I had to march like that in my Royal Air Force days I would have been forever on ‘jankers’ for inappropriate giggling.
There was a lovely little cafe thing perched on the hill. We had Sunday lunch. This was potato soup, apple strudel and, well it would be so rude not to, a cheeky chilled white. No pictures because I did the rooky error thing again and left my spare camera battery in the other bag.

Finishing on a sobering thought tonight. I found this memorial and the depiction in the following photographs very moving. Is there any wonder that the people here celebrate with such enthusiasm their membership of the European Union?

Even the trams wear their flags.

Last day tommorrow, then it is off to Berlin.
