Bratislavia.

Firstly, I must share my shower experience. I have been attacked by the Bratislavian shower snake. This looks innocently like the metallic hose attatched to a shower head. It is not as it appears. Once roused by the hundreds of PSI water pressure put through it a monster is born. It then goes into the ‘cobra dance’, which through necessity you have to emulate. The result is that you appear from the shower somewhat dishevaled, panting and exhausted. At which point travel companion remarks how brown and tanned my legs are…except it is not colour derived from the sunshine, it is bruising from the shower snake of Bratislavia.

Okay onto the travels. We were unsure about Bratislavia. It suffers from geographical disadvantage, only in that it is in such proximity to the likes of Budapest, Vienna and Prague, it cannot hope to compete with these cities because it is so much smaller. Yet we have been captivated by this little city. From beautiful churches…

To ramparts and walls

Hidden courtyards …

Then out of the blue you see this…

Last night we sampled of the local brew which was rather wonderful and had our dinner by the Danube.

All in all we have enjoyed our brief stay and are glad we included it in our itinerary.

Next stop Prague.
