Dysart to Elie.

I am bored with recounting extra miles. Suffice to say there have been many! But latterly without our backpacks.

Leaving Dysart

There has been a lot of this. Where we walk along the beaches and are captivated by the solitude, the sounds of waves and a cacophany of sea bird calls.

Old Railway, Lower Largo

High tides sometimes have forced us onto the ‘high road’. But the scenes and views are no less captivating.

Leaving Shell Bay.

We have added to our mileage as we continue to be unable to stop searching for the ‘Jewels of the sea’. Our craft projects for the dark nights ahead are certainly going to benefit from our finds.

Some of our ‘treasure’.

Our accomodation has changed! Gone are the lovely hotels with our meals all prepared and a very handy bar. We are currently holed up in a caravan in the middle of nowhere! We have got used to flaggng down the bus as it passes!!! Seems this is a ‘thing’ in rural Fife. Our shopping supplied by daughter mine, with grateful thanks.

Best gates ever!

Onwards towards Elie.

We once again took the ‘high ‘road.

Earlsferry and Elie.

They low road is definately one for the young and fit. The alternative is of course the much acclaimed Elie Chain Walk. Travel companion and I are barely keeping our bodies in tact without taking on the prospect of swinging along rock faces on chains!

Section of the Elie Chain ‘Walk’

Journeys end to date was Elie. We enjoyed a very expensive drink in The Ship Inn then bussed back to our digs. In bed by nine o’ clock and asleep by five past! Todays walk is a little one … Elie to Anstruther. A mere seven miles … as opposed to yesterdays 13!

This makes us feel very smug and accomplished! We are ahead of schedule!

Just have to negotiate a diversion …
