Today travelling buddy mark one and I are off on another adventure. Rucksacks packed and adorned with many dangling things.
This time we are taking ‘a walk’. The Fife Coastal path in all of its’ glory awaits. So with a combined one hundred and forty four years of life experience safely tucked under our belts, a plan, a map or two and still no sense of direction between us, we are off on the 1255 from York.
We intend to walk and ‘dook’ our way from the Forth Bridge to the Tay Bridge and beyond. We just need to keep the coastline on our right. What could possibly go wrong?

Having navigated our way from the station down to sea level we are not at all impressed with the route to catch a bus or train. Stroppy knees and bonky hip do not need upsetting already. We might swim the Forth. But that would be showing off! And the rucksacks might not float.
Trashed the room already!
There is a cruise ship parked up and a water taxi service running backwards and forwards to it. We thought we might get a ferry ride to North Queensferry but sadly we were politely but emphatically rebuffed!
So Uber…here we come.
