Last year, on the beach after one of our group sea swims, I overheard one of our group say ‘I would love to do a rail trip to Eastern Europe but am a bit reluctant to go on my own’. Without a moments hesitation I heard the words ‘I’ll come with you’ tumble from my lips.
Several months on, with so many of our beloved planning Tuesday nights now behind us, assisted by the occasional glass of white, we’re off interrailing with our senior first class tickets. Bought, of course, in the sale last year. With 142 years of collective life experience between us, we know how to save a pound or two.
So join me … Pam and my dear friend and travelling companion … Jane as we wend our way to Budapest and back. First leg, Beverley to Vierzon. Is the interailng community ready? well ready or not, here we come. A shout out to ‘Man in seat 61’, our inspiration and guide, though he doesn’t know it!
